Feedback for 'The Tassie Ride, Australia' Ride

‘The jaw-dropping beauty of Tasmania, by horseback, is unparalleled. The journey captured a window of history: changing natural environments and vegetation, abundant wildlife, miles and miles of long, wide, open, empty beach, rolling waves, and horses that are so highly respected and cared for that they return the favour in spades. The staff are hard-working, hardcore, salt-of-the-earth horse people. Their work ethic is what Australia was built on. I have so much respect and admiration for them and the work they do, sharing this incredible part of Australia with the world. If you’re wondering if this is a trip for you… two words: GIIDDY-UP!’

‘The Tassie Ride was my first step back into the ‘horsey’ life after way too many years. Ray, Laura, and their excellent team of both humans and horses answered every nervous question, accommodated all riders’ needs, cooked excellent food, and brought out a week of sunshine. Cantering on the beach was a bucket list moment for me—something I’ve always wanted to do—and it really met my expectations! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’

‘It was the perfect three days! My friends and I came down from Brisbane, and the ride and accommodation exceeded our expectations. The hosts and guides were wonderful and had a wealth of knowledge about the individual horses and their personalities. The views from the Razorback were amazing, and Baguette was very sure-footed and easy-going throughout the ride. The sauna and outdoor baths were perfect for relaxing after a long day of riding. Time went by so quickly, but it was a truly memorable experience.’

‘The long weekend I didn’t realise I needed, 100% recommend. Everything was above expectation, the hosts, guides, horses, equipment, accommodation, food, variety of riding places and much more! Especially the high care the horses received.’

‘Don’t hesitate to do this ride – it was amazing! Leo was a beautiful and easy horse to ride, and I really connected with him. Both homes were very different but really lovely and comfortable. All meals were yummy, but the salmon was fabulous! The second day at the O’Connor property was just surreal – so, so beautiful! Everyone involved was so professional and welcoming, as well as lots of fun. I had a ball!’

‘I booked this ride to gain confidence and get over my fear after a nasty fall. I was given the perfect horse in Darcy, and I was able to totally relax and get my body used to being back in the saddle. I loved the different rides and scenery each day. The staff were exceptional and experienced; accommodation and meals were excellent. Thank you for making this experience the best ever!’

‘I absolutely loved The Tassie Ride! Everything was exceptionally well organized, and the countryside was breathtakingly beautiful, offering something different every day. A standout moment for me was plodding through the floodplains in Narawntapu National Park, surrounded by hundreds of kangaroos. Witnessing two wedgetail eagles take flight and accompany us for the rest of the day was simply magical—nature at its finest! Both accommodations were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the historic Brickendon, wandering around its lovely estate, just as much as I appreciated the 1050 Bakers off-grid cabin nestled in the bush with stunning ocean views. The outdoor baths were a delightful treat after a few days of riding. The guides were wonderful—so friendly, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. They really made the experience memorable!’

‘I absolutely loved this trip. As a beginner in terms of skill and experience, this ride helped boost my confidence and enhance my horsemanship. It was an unforgettable experience. The scenery was stunning, the horses were fabulous, and you couldn’t ask for better hosts and guides than this team.’

‘This ride crossed so many horseback riding experiences off my bucket list! I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially for riders looking for their first Globetrotting trip like I was. The trails and terrain were stunning, and the horses were excellent (especially Sonata, my mare!). The guides took such care to make the riders feel confident and ensure everyone was having a great time. I learned so much from the guides and those in my group, and I feel like I really grew as a rider over the 5 days. I took this trip to celebrate an educational milestone and disconnect from work and life, and it was exactly the reset I needed. I got to connect with the beautiful Tasmanian nature, develop new friendships, and grow in confidence and ability as a horsewoman. The memories of cantering on the beach, navigating downhill paths, and trotting through winding trails are ones that I’ll think of forever!’

‘I can’t fault the Cradle to Coast ride! The scenery is spectacular, the accommodation is wonderful, the food is delicious, the guides are amazing, and the horses are just the best! Every day is completely different, one day we were riding through ancient farmlands, the next we were cantering along the pristine Bakers Beach, and another we were riding past wombats and eating lunch in front of Cradle Mountain. I’ve done the multi-day ride twice now and will happily keep coming back. I rode Choccie both times and have never felt safer and more confident on a horse. We had a group with varying riding abilities, but everyone was well-catered to and felt safe at all times. I would recommend this ride to anyone. It’s definitely one to add to the bucket list!’

‘I just completed the Cradle to Coast horseback riding trip and I highly recommend it. They did an excellent job of pairing the horses with the riders, ensuring that everyone was comfortable throughout the journey. Every day was different from the last in terms of the landscape and the ride experience. The guides, horses, food, and accommodation were all excellent. Communication about the trip was extremely good and they provided a very professional service. I will absolutely book another Globetrotting trip in the future.’

‘The Cradle to Coast ride was absolutely beyond amazing! Our hosts and guides were so easygoing and hospitable; nothing was a bother! The food was absolutely divine. Every single part of the food served was on point. The most amazing selection of local Tassie foods was just delicious! The countryside is just stunning, with the best view ever…Just us and the wallabies. It was bliss. Their Horses are just beautiful. I rode Dewey, and I fell in love with him – he is such a gentle giant and so photogenic! He certainly looked after me! I highly recommend this ride!’

‘This ride really exceeded my expectations. The experience was fantastic, from the amazing horses to the friendly and helpful hosts and staff, the stunning landscapes, comfortable accommodation and delicious food. It was everything I could have hoped for, and more! I rode Captain and he was the perfect horse for me. He loved cantering on the beach and was really responsive, which gave me a lot of confidence. The lodge at Bakers Beach was so cosy and comfortable, and there’s nothing quite like sitting on the verandah after a long day of riding, watching the wildlife and enjoying a drink while the sun sets. This ride is truly special and is a must for all horse lovers.’

‘Laura and Ray have done an amazing job curating an amazing team of guides, fabulous horses to suit all levels, and stunning rides that are unique every day with plenty of opportunity for trotting and cantering. Add in the fun off-the-horse activities and lovely accommodations, and you can’t go wrong. Book the ride! You won’t regret it!’

‘This was my first multi-day horse ride after taking lessons for six months. It was an ideal way to reinforce and enhance what I had learned so far. I had SO much fun and usually felt like five hours a day was not enough! I wanted to do something for myself after watching and paying for my kids’ lessons for so many years. The ride was suitable for all levels, and everyone was happy. I went with two of my daughters, and it was magical to share this experience with them. The scenery in Tasmania was spectacular, and each day was completely different. I would go again in a minute!’

‘I recently took my first globetrotting trip on the Cradle to Coast ride, and it was the perfect way to celebrate my milestone 40th birthday! My sister and I had never been to Tasmania before, and the experiences we had there were truly unforgettable. It’s hard to find other places that offer such a diverse array of landscapes to explore on horseback, from the mountains to the beaches and forests. Plus, being on a food and wine trail meant we got to indulge even when we weren’t riding. The warm hospitality of the Tasmanian locals made it a truly once-in-a-lifetime holiday that we will always cherish.’

‘I had an absolute blast in Tassie! The Cradle to Coast ride was such a fabulous experience. Wonderful guides, Stacy & Barb and Ray our host was quite the storyteller and a great cook, except when he took his eyes off the garlic bread for just a minute! Most importantly, the horses were so lovely, all with different personalities, much like their riders! My boy was Chockie, and he was a sweetheart! This was my first Globetrotting experience, but certainly won’t be my last.’

‘The Cradle to Coast Ride was a super spectacular adventure that was just far enough out of my comfort zone, but still close to home (NZ). Tassie is a beautiful place, and we got to see a different side of it every day. The guides and hosts were wonderful people, and of course, the horses were AMAZING. I rode Graham and I loved him! He was just as happy plodding along or kicking up his heels, and could follow the leader or listen to me as his rider. Everyone was catered for, and the guides are well practised at working with people who want to go fast and others who prefer to take it at a slower pace. There is never any pressure. I would 100% recommend this ride to anyone who is unsure. You will LOVE it.’

‘I could not fault this ride in any way. The accommodation was amazing and the food we were spoilt with was second to none. Our guides were so friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and their knowledge made for some very interesting riding. My horse Leo was a gentleman: surefooted, easy on the eye and I felt very safe on him. Each day was very different, which made for an amazing and memorable experience.’

‘I had the best time on this trip. We had the best weather and I loved the small group of six globetrotters. The riding was just amazing, with a different landscape and another amazing view each day. As someone returning to riding after 20-something years, I was matched to the most dependable, surefooted horse, Captain, who escalated my confidence. We had the best guides, and our hosts were so easygoing and good to have a laugh with. It was lovely to see their genuine, longstanding love of their horses. We also had fantastic out-of-saddle activities – chocolate for breakfast is not typically my thing, but when on holidays…!
I would thoroughly recommend this ride. What an awesome experience. I have come away with great memories that I will hopefully remember forever.’
